2009

December 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I don’t like making year assessment. 2009 was not the best year and I generally don’t like odd years. I like evens, like the year I was born, 1978. So, I am looking forward to 2010. But I don’t want it to pass as fast as the last 20 years.
The best thing about the year that ends tomorrow was the trip to NYC. Being part of that city, even for 10 days only, is always fulfilling.
I don’t like doing New Year’s resolutions either. I would like, though, to extend the 10 days fulfillment to 365.

Día de los Santos Inocentes

December 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Santa Claus has come…

And “She” brought me something I wanted. As usual… For a couple of months I have been looking for a stainless steel ring. I saw several but I could not decide myself for one. And “She” decided for me and it was a good choice.

December 24′th

December 24, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Besides Christmas Eve, this is always a special day, as it is my mother’s birthday.
This year won’t be such a glamorous birthday like the one in 2007 in West Palm Beach but I think she will still have a blast.
I don’t want to say much else, except that I wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
Happy Birthday MOM! You are the most beautiful and wonderful mother.
And also, Happy Birthday Ricky Martin!

20 years

December 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

20 years of freedom. I lived more in freedom than in comunism. Back in 1989, I was old enough to know what it was happening. I was 11.
The country has come a long way since then but there are still so many comunists in the political sphere. People that want us to believe that they were coincidently there.
Looking at the images now, it all seems a bad joke. People had died in vain. They really thought that was a revolution.
I had a beautiful life before 1989, I cannot complain. But the change was necessary and it came at the right time for me. The first thing I was happy about was that I’ve never worn uniform in school after that, which was not such a terrible thing for all those less fortunate kids.
A lot of good things occurred in these 20 years. Not for everyone, I am sure. Especially for all those people who have lost a dear one.
Unfortunately we only remember the events of December 1989 when another year passes by.

Brittany Murphy – R.I.P.

December 21, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Brittany Murphy (November 10, 1977 – December 20, 2009) was an American actress and singer. She starred in films such as Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, Sin City and Riding in Cars with Boys, and performed vocals on a range of films.

She starred in two Edward Burns films: Sidewalks of New York (2001) and The Groomsmen (2006). In 2009, she was cast in the Lifetime TV movie, Tribute, as the main character, Cilla. She was set to appear in the Sylvester Stallone film, The Expendables, which will be released in 2010.

On June 6, 2006, Murphy and Paul Oakenfold released the single “Faster Kill Pussycat”, from the album A Lively Mind. The song became a club hit, and hit number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart. It also hit number seven in the UK singles chart in June 2006.

She dabbled in music again with the release of the film Happy Feet, in which she covered Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland”.

In late 2002, Murphy began dating Ashton Kutcher, her co-star in Just Married.

At 8:00 a.m. on December 20, 2009, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to “a medical request” at the Los Angeles home Murphy and her husband, Simon Monjack, shared. She had apparently collapsed in a bathroom. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate Murphy on the scene and she was subsequently transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:04 a.m. after going into cardiac arrest.

The Christmas Tree

December 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’ve always liked to put up the Christmas Tree. Sometimes I am getting into the spirit more than others. This year it was more like a duty. I’ve enjoyed it but I knew I had to finish fast, because I wanted to watch the movie on HBO. So I had less than 3 hours. I use to stop and watch it and change things and watch it again.
I always like the outcome though.
The Christmas tree reminds me of places I visited as I brought decorations from all over. These decorations always take the center stage.
