Another miracle

A Romanian plane carrying 51 people made a safe emergency landing in western Romania on Saturday and all the occupants escaped injury.

The Carpatair flight’s front landing gear became stuck and the plane circled Timisoara International Airport for almost two hours, using up its fuel to avoid a potential fire before it landed on a 200-yard (200-meter) long bed of foam laid out by firefighters.

One of the pilots later said they were about six miles (10 kilometers) from the airport when they discovered they had a problem with the landing gear, and alerted the aviation authorities.

“The plane came down on the side wheels; it braked sharply and at a low speed it came on its front belly, while the front landing gear remained stuck,” Dan Andrei, the airline’s vice president, said.

At least 10 ambulances and three fire engines were waiting for the stricken plane when it landed, the emergency department said.

The Saab 2000 aircraft was carrying 47 passengers and four crew members on its flight from the Moldovan capital, Chisinau, to Timisoara, airport spokeswoman Carmen Stoica said. Romanian border police, who deal with international customs, said the plane was carrying 11 Romanians, 23 Moldovans, nine Italians, two Greeks and two Germans. The crew is Moldovan.

Another successful quarter came to an end. The results speak for themselves. I am so glad it’s over…

Eddie Cibrian

Today’s post is dedicated to Eddie Cibrian as I am watching one of his movies. I think it’s the fifth time I see this movie (Logan’s War)… well I am not really seeing it, I do many things at a time…

Cibrian is not an A LIST actor but he has starred in The Young and the Restless, Baywatch Nights, Sunset Beach as leading man Cole Deschanel, Third Watch as womanizing New York City firefighter Jimmy Doherty, Tilt as rising poker star Eddie Towne, and Invasion as Everglades park ranger Russell Varon. He has also guest-starred in Saved By The Bell, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Criminal Minds and Beverly Hills, 90210. His movie credits include Living Out Loud, But I’m a Cheerleader and The Cave.

He was named one of People Magazine’s 100 most Beautiful People in 2006. In 2006, Cibrian was voted No. 2 on the Sexiest Soap Hunks of All Time list at the Shrine to the Soap Hunks.

I used to watch Sunset Beach series back in 1998 just to see him. They used to call him “Dimples”, you can easily see why.
He is a Gemini and I could figure that out just by looking at him. It happened with other actors too. I cannot really explain what made me realize that… Some other examples are Collin Farrell, Jesse Bradford, Shane West.

Who invented the automobile?

President Obama’s raised controversy when he stated in a speech to Congress: “And I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.”

Many inventors contributed to the rise of the car in modern-day life. But the U.S. Library of Congress credits German inventor Karl Benz with creating the first true automobile that ran on an internal combustion engine.

Benz came out with his patented car around 1885, or about the same time when fellow Germans Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach produced a four-wheeled automobile with a four-stroke engine. The names of these inventors live on in modern car companies such as Daimler AG and its Mercedes-Benz division.

By contrast, U.S. automotive pioneer Henry Ford did not start rolling out his mass-produced Model T cars until 1908. His claim to fame lies in popularizing automobiles as a common form of transportation, according to the Henry Ford Museum. Pedestrians and bikers may not thank him as much.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I am done seeing the last part of the movie. It is majestic yet simple. I’ve always liked simple things yet complicated.
I liked the “story” of incidents. I often find myself thinking about how things could change in a second… “life being what it is – a series of intersecting lives and incidents, out of anyone’s control. Sometimes we’re on a collision course, and we just don’t know it. Whether it’s by accident or by design, there’s not a thing we can do about it.”
It struck me, though it shouldn’t, how hard it is to let go and how easily we let it happen.
“You can be as mad as a mad dog at the way things went. You could swear, curse the fates, but when it comes to the end, you have to let go.”
“Our lives are defined by opportunities, even the ones we miss.”
The movie leave you with so much to think about. I have to sort things out a bit.
Do the years of frustration and hardship are all worth it if only for a few moments of happiness?
Basically this movie is about the short time we’re given with life and how we are to make the most of it. It is a story of life, love, and the things we lose.

P.D. “Such an awful waste… you’ll never get it back, wasted time”. Curious I have said so earlier…
He visto una primera parte… Interesante hasta ahora. Nada de perder el tiempo.
