Cheryl Cole – 27

Cheryl Ann Cole (born Tweedy, 30 June 1983) is an English singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, model, and television personality.

Cole rose to fame in 2002 after becoming a member of pop group Girls Aloud through ITV’s reality television programme Popstars: The Rivals. They have become one of the few UK reality television acts to achieve continued success, amassing a fortune of £25 million by May 2009. With Girls Aloud, Cheryl Cole has been successful in achieving a string of 20 consecutive UK top ten singles (including four number ones), two UK number one albums, and received nominations for five BRIT Awards, winning Best Single in 2009 for “The Promise”.

In 2008, Cheryl became a judge on the British reality television show The X Factor. Cole has been called “the nation’s new sweetheart.” Her first solo single, “Fight for This Love”, was the fastest-selling single of 2009 up to that point when it entered the UK Singles Chart and Irish Singles Chart at number one, becoming the fourth best-seller of the year. Her debut solo album 3 Words achieved similar success. She has also become recognized as a style icon, appearing on the covers of British Vogue, Elle & Harper’s Bazaar. In 2009, she became the new face of L’Oréal.

Cheryl began dating England and Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole in 2004, announcing their engagement after he proposed in Dubai in June 2005. The couple were married at a ceremony at Barnet, North West London on 15 July 2006. They signed an exclusive deal with OK!, reportedly worth £1 million, regarding the rights of the photographs. In January 2008, a hairdresser named Aimee Walton alleged that she had engaged in drunken extramarital sex with Ashley Cole in a kiss-and-tell interview with The Sun. Glamour model Brooke Healy claimed that she had spent the night and had sexual relations with Ashley Cole in December 2006. Promotion for Girls Aloud’s “Can’t Speak French” was put on hold, and Cheryl also stopped wearing her wedding ring. The couple, however, reconciled. Following tabloid reports of marital problems in November 2009, Cole posted a picture with her wedding ring in plain sight on Twitter, with the message “3 words. Diamonds Are Forever.” In early February 2010, news broke that her husband had cheated on her with five more women. On 23 February, Cheryl announced she was separating from her husband and asked the media to respect their privacy. On 26 May 2010, she filed for divorce at London’s High Court citing “unreasonable behaviour” of estranged husband Ashley as the reason for their break-up. Later that day Cheryl’s PR company confirmed the divorce, posting a message on social networking site Twitter stating: “We can confirm the divorce. We have no further comment.” During an X Factor audition at ExCeL London on 22 June 2010, Simon Cowell introduced her as “Cheryl Tweedy”.

Movie Maker

Yesterday I’ve received what was supposed to be the present for my birthday… In fact, I received it on June 2nd but I could only see it yesterday.
Well, it was worth waiting. A great video bringing back wonderful memories…
Today I made a video myself… can’t wait to see the outcome. This is only the beginning. I really like it…

Dear John

I’ve wanted to see this movie for a long time and yesterday I’ve found a pretty decent version on the Internet. It was great, emotional, the kind of movie I needed. I do believe that true love can make it through. I do believe in people that belong to each other and I can relate to some lines in the movie:

What’s one year apart after two weeks like that together…

No matter how many years go by I know one thing to be as true as it ever was: I’ll see you soon then…

The World Cup in South Africa

South Africa has a very high level of crime including rape and murder. In all areas you should be cautious when out after dark. There have been a number of incidents involving foreigners being followed from Johannesburg airport to their destinations by car and then robbed, often at gunpoint. The standard of driving is variable and there are many fatal accidents.
G4S, the world’s biggest security firm, has declined to work at the World Cup. Nick Buckles, the organisation’s chief executive, took that decision after revealing that G4S rated South Africa more dangerous than Iraq and Afghanistan.
Besides this big security issue, this World Cup is supposed to be held in the summer and there is winter. And that vuvuzela thing, could anything be more horrible?
Maybe it was Africa’s turn, but is South Africa the best choice? We shall wait and see and hope there will be no major problem.

Suiza gana a España

There is something about Clive Owen

I saw a movie on Saturday, a fairly emotional movie. I have decided to watch as I thought Clive Owen was a strong guarantee. I cannot explain why but I like the man and I like what he has done so far in terms of roles.
In The Boys Are Back , he is Joe Warr, a British sports writer who lives in Australia with his second wife, Katy and his young son, Artie. When Katy gets diagnosed with cancer and passes away, Joe copes with the responsibilities of being a single parent with the help of his beloved wife’s spirit. He also invites his teenaged son from his first marriage, Harry to come and live with him in Australia for a while.
It’s a different type of character for Clive Owen but he is dealing with it honorably. I liked the way he called Artie “sweetheart”. It sounded so different and pleasantly rare.

Sex and the City 2

Two years have passed since Carrie Bradshaw finally bagged John “Mr. Big” Preston, the man she was always meant to be with. Just as her friend Charlotte must deal with her young daughter’s “terrible two’s”, Carrie must deal with her relationship taking a turn for the worse – Big likes to watch old black-and-white movies on TV and eat take-out food, which prevents Carrie from feeling like the free-wheeling party girl she used to be. Meanwhile, Miranda copes with a new boss that can’t handle an intelligent, powerful woman, and Samantha works a public relations angle that gets the fashionable foursome an all-expense-paid trip to Abu Dhabi.
